My name is Erica, and about 20 years ago I discovered my love for baking. It started small with an Easy-Bake Oven, then progressed to store-bought muffin mixes and boxed cake mixes. Eventually, I found inspiration in my local community. Growing up without grandparents, I took it upon myself to adopt a few, and that's where my passion for baking truly took root. The sweetest memory I have is of the holiday cookies my now-grandmother would bring—perfectly crunchy, loaded with chocolate chips, and overflowing with pecans (I only knew this because eventually she let me bake alongside her, adding extra for "good luck"). What began as a desire to impress her blossomed into a deep love for the art and science of baking.
Why Pastry Planet?
Well, here's the thing—I got fired for the first time ever (which was a real shock since I've always been a strict rule follower and people pleaser). As I sat between jobs, I took some time to reflect and asked myself, "What do I actually enjoy?" At the time, it didn't feel like much. I'd just spent several years in a soul-sucking, dead-end job, simply getting by. But as I thought more, it all came down to a few things: cookies, space, and cute bunnies. I decided to transform those passions into something tangible, and now, I'd love to share it with you.
